A Light at the End of the Tunnel...?

I wanted to share some recent updates regarding the documentary. After filming so many interviews over the years, I now have something in the neighborhood of a final post production timeline. It’s enabled me to finally see a light at the end of the tunnel...though it remains a very long tunnel.

I regret I won't be able to attend San Diego ComicCon this week. I have work commitments, followed by another trip back to the east coast at the end of the month. I'm planning to film some additional interviews that have been a long, long time coming; they've literally been in the works for years. I guess there's something to be said for patience and persistence.

Another recent development: after the sad passing of my attorney, the late Harriet Beck, last November, I’ve recently retained a leading Beverly Hills attorney who specializes in intellectual property law. This will be instrumental in our navigating through some of the complex legal challenges common to documentaries (namely fair use). That this project also has the blessing and participation of the Richard Amsel estate means the world to me.

Finally, with over 50 interviews filmed thus far, I’ve finally admitted that bringing on additional editorial support is long overdue. I’m now in discussions with editors to assist in assembling the rough cut from the 100+ hours of footage shot thus far. I’ve been too stubborn for too long, and downright foolish to think I could do it all by myself. I need fresh eyes and fresh perspectives to collaborate with, allowing me more time to filming more interviews along the way.
