David Byrd fundraiser / Dawn Baillie show at NYC's POSTER HOUSE / March donation promo!

Hey guys, now that we’re approaching the end of March, I thought it’d be better to consolidate some recent updates and news...

FUNDRAISER FOR DAVID BYRD

First, I want to thank everyone who has donated thus far to David Byrd’s GoFundMe campaign. In less than 3 days, it is already approaching the $10k mark – that’s nearly 20% of their overall target!

David writes:

Hello Dear Friends:

Over the years I have so appreciated all your support purchasing my Posters & other art, and for being my dear friends.

Unfortunately I have experienced several health reversals as I approach my 83rd year. Consequently, I have amassed quite a few medical bills that have become somewhat overwhelming.

Because of all these overlapping difficulties I have found it necessary to start a GoFundMe site to assist me and my devoted husband of 42 years, Jolino Beserra, get thru this quagmire of debt. No amount is too small, and I will thoroughly embrace all donations with equal amounts of love and affection.

If you can’t donate right now, please share this campaign on social media to help get the word out. You can also help by buying some of David's work! He currently has poster prints available for sale on his website, as well as special collections and original paintings on eBay! You should also check out his new book, POSTER CHILD, currently available for sale!

POSTER HOUSE EXHIBIT OF DAWN BAILLIE’S MOVIE POSTER ART

For those of you in the NYC area, POSTER HOUSE has an exciting new exhibit that runs through September 8th. The Anatomy of a Movie Poster: The Work of Dawn Baillie showcases the remarkable, decades-long career of the celebrated designer. Her works include LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, DIRTY DANCING, and – in what is perhaps the towering milestone of her career – THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS.

Baillie has forged her creative mark in what is commonly a male-dominated world. I had the pleasure of meeting her a few times, and she expressed her admiration of Richard Amsel’s work. I’m hoping I’ll be able to visit the east coast within the next few months to see the show. The exhibit sounds exciting!

DON’T FORGET OUR MARCH PROMO!

One copy is signed by RAIDERS executive producer Howard Kazanjian, while the other is signed by legendary artist William Stout, who contributed storyboards for the film.
