First, I want to thank everyone for their enthusiasm and encouragement regarding the teaser trailer! A more extensive trailer will be coming in the future, as the film takes on a more defined form. There’s still a lot left to do.
Which begs the question: How much is left? I still want to film more interviews in the coming months, and will be making another round of mailings/inquiries/pleas, especially to those celebrities whom Amsel did portraits of, as well as filmmakers and artists who were inspired by his work. (If any of you have any leads, please send them my way!)
In the meantime, we’re still moving forward, and we could still use your help. AMSEL: ILLUSTRATOR OF THE LOST ART is a project with 501c3 non-profit status, and your donations can be tax write-offs where applicable by law.
So far, we’ve reached the $35k fundraising mark. I can’t thank you guys enough for your support.
This time of year, I like to offer incentives for your donations. There are a variety of postcards and 8x10" prints available, for donations of $40 and $100, respectively. There will also be a raffle for a large art print of the winner’s choice.
Every $40 donation will include a series of postcards, and 4 raffle entries for the large print. Every $100 donation will include both the series of postcards and 8x10" prints, as well as 12 raffle entries for the large print.
Sizes of the large print will vary by art, but prints will be at least 20"x30". Also, if there's a particular image you're looking for, please inquire, as not all the images I have available are suitable for high quality reproduction.
Those who donate at least $10 to our project through our Fractured Atlas donation page will be entered to win. You can enter multiple times, with $10 for each entry.
Donations must be received by November 30th to qualify for the drawing. The winners will be notified in early December. Winners will not be responsible for any shipping fees. Winners will also be drawn at random, in a video to be posted online to ensure impartiality.
Many of these art reprints were made directly from photographs or transparencies taken of Amsel's original artwork, and were professionally scanned and color-corrected. None of these reproductions are intended for commercial sale.
Fractured Atlas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) arts service organization legally registered as a charity to fund raise in all 50 states. Donations through this page are fully tax-deductible under the law. (To learn more about donating to the film, you can also check out our Donate/Contribute page.)
